Since the formation of Sciaba Construction Corporation in 1980, our primary focus was public sector work. We began with small park and recreational projects for the City of Boston and continued our growth into the renovation of different municipal projects also for the City of Boston. As our growth continued, we expanded our work into other municipal agencies such as Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), the Massachusetts Highway Department (MHD), Massachusetts Port Authority (MASSPORT), the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA), Army Corp of Engineers, United States Navy, United Coast Guard and many other cities and towns throughout the state of Massachusetts, Maine and Connecticut. The work consisted of new and renovated building work, such as schools, libraries, hospitals, police stations, train stations and town halls. Sciaba also performed various bridge construction and dam re-construction, waste water treatment work, utility work and marine work. Today, Sciaba continues to develop new relationships in the public sector with new technology and a commitment to quality workmanship and delivering the projects on time and within the owners budget.
In 1982, Sciaba Construction Corporation decided to develop a construction management group along with a private construction group, to complement the public building projects that were ongoing. From the excellent relationships that we had with many architects that we had worked with on the public projects, we were invited to bid on many private projects that these architects had in their design development stages. Sciaba completed projects such as Arne's Seafood Copley Plaza (Currently Legal Seafood), The Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Windsor Locks Connecticut, Abe and Louis Restaurant Boston Mass, Carambola Beach Resort St. Croix USVI, Sunshine Shopping Ctr. USVI.
